Practical & independent AI
OPCoach, a training organisation specialising in open-source technologies and foreign languages, has been working with AI every day for three years. The team built its second brain and interaction tools: a Dolibarr MCP server, an email MCP server and an MCP server for OPTiumm, its internal management tool.
More than 18 agents, defined as text in this second brain, use these tools. OPCoach brought them together in a generic AI harness — a foundation connecting agents, knowledge and tools — for its day-to-day management. This harness is BrainMotor’s software foundation, which OPCoach now makes available to clients, adapted to their needs.
BrainMotor is built on open-source components. Distribution under an open-source licence is planned; the licence itself is still to be confirmed.
The starting point
A shared folder, an email, a note, a colleague’s memory… Your company knows a lot. Bringing it together when it matters is still difficult.
A second brain gathers that knowledge in a structured space AI can reuse. Email analysis and connections to your business tools can feed it almost automatically, within the permissions and rules you authorise. Independence by design
BrainMotor is designed as an open, modular platform installed on a server your company controls. Connecting your knowledge to your tools should not lock you into a provider.
The source code is installed on your infrastructure: a company server or a VPS subscribed to and controlled by your business. You retain control of your instance.
Documents, knowledge, configuration and backups are stored on your infrastructure, not in a central BrainMotor workspace. You retain access and control.
Your instance’s credentials, API keys and other secrets are stored locally on your server. You decide which permissions agents receive and can revoke them.
Your agents are defined independently of models. OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI (Grok) or a local model: choose their AI engine without abandoning their missions or your second brain.
A company server or your business’s VPS: you stay in control. For delegated administration, OPCoach receives only restricted, scoped and revocable access appropriate to the service.
No in-house infrastructure administration skills? OPCoach can handle it through monthly maintenance. You remain free to cancel: cancellation does not disable your instance. You keep the code, data and use of the installed version, without the updates or support provided by that service.
One agent, one mission, your choice of provider. BrainMotor aims for provider-independent execution: OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI (Grok) and other compatible providers, provided you have API access. API usage is generally paid and is not included in the BrainMotor service.
BrainMotor is designed to guide you towards a suitable LLM for each agent, based on the task, budget and confidentiality. The planned interface lets you change these settings for the next executions, or choose a local model with no external access. If a provider raises its prices, you can move to a more economical alternative instead of rebuilding your agents.
With local models and tools, and no external connections, documents, requests and processing stay on your server. Nothing is sent to a cloud AI provider.
With OpenAI, Anthropic or another external service, the data needed for requests is sent to your chosen provider. These flows must be identified, authorised and limited according to your rules.
The OPCoach harness is used daily. Its BrainMotor adaptation and interface are evolving: connectors, model compatibility and agent quality will be checked during your preliminary study and pilot. Switching models does not guarantee identical results.

With or without our maintenance, your company remains responsible for hosting, backups and security. Any VPS or cloud-provider costs remain separate.
